Chilean Army conducts high-altitude mountain combat training

The Chilean Army is conducting specialized mountain training through both domestic integration ceremonies and international cooperation. In the Arica and Parinacota Region, professional soldiers of the 24th Motorized Brigade “Huamachuco” completed an ascent of Aconcariri Hill at an altitude exceeding 4,000 meters. This activity served as a milestone for their integration into the mountain unit, culminating in the traditional presentation of the green beret and brigade insignia.

Simultaneously, Chilean military personnel are participating in the Summer Mountain Combat Indoctrination Exercise (Acome) in Huesca, Spain. Organized by the Spanish Army at the Military School of Mountain and Special Operations (EMMOE), the exercise involves Chilean officers and non-commissioned officers from various mountain detachments. The program focuses on survival, tactical movement, climbing, and combat techniques in mountainous terrain to standardize procedures and exchange professional expertise between the two nations.
