Parallel to the legislative inquiry, a Chilean prosecutor's office has launched a criminal investigation to determine the extent of Cerimedo's involvement in the country and whether his operations involved illegal activities. The commission seeks to clarify Cerimedo's influence on various political actors and his connections to figures such as José Antonio Kast.
