Chilean communities host regional tourism and memorial sports events
The Rucalhue area in Quilaco is hosting ‘Rucalhue Vive Turismo 2026’ on October 17 and 18. Organized by the Municipality of Quilaco and supported by Rucalhue Energía, the event features a provincial tourism showcase involving 14 communes from the Biobío province. Activities include nature yoga, sensory experiences, guided trails to the El Risco lookout, and a traditional Biobío carnival.
In Calama, the fifth edition of the Hans and César Olympics is being held from October 16 to 18 at the Cancha Roja. The sporting event commemorates two local athletes, Hans Jesús Enrique Fernández Correa and César Camilo Michea León, who died in a traffic accident in 2021. The competitions include boxing, athletics, calisthenics, obstacle courses, and futsal.
