Chilean delegation explores irrigation technology in Dominican Republic

A delegation from the Chilean Irrigation and Drainage Guild Association (AGRYD) has concluded a four-day mission to the Dominican Republic. The visit aimed to identify business opportunities, strengthen technical cooperation, and exchange best practices to modernize the Dominican agricultural sector.

The delegation, which included Chilean Ambassador Germán Becker and various industry specialists, met with Dominican officials, including Minister of Agriculture Francisco Oliverio Espaillat. Discussions focused on technological innovation, efficient water use, and strategic alliances to promote sustainable agriculture.

Claudio Caamaño Vélez, executive director of Tecnificación Nacional de Riego (TNR), noted that the mission allows Chilean investors and technicians to witness firsthand the development and innovation opportunities available within the Dominican Republic’s agricultural landscape.
