Chilean educator Pablo Malhue selected for CERN program in Geneva

Pablo Malhue, a biologist and educator from San Antonio, Chile, has been selected to participate in the CERN International Teacher Weeks Programme 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. Malhue, an alumnus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) and a teacher at the Instituto Comercial Marítimo Pacífico Sur, was the sole Chilean representative and one of only two Latin American participants in the program.

During the program, Malhue engaged with cutting-edge scientists and toured facilities including the Large Hadron Collider. The initiative, organized by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), aims to bring global educators together to discuss particle physics and its technological applications, such as medical advancements and the creation of the World Wide Web. Malhue intends to use this experience to enhance scientific research and outreach opportunities for his students in the Valparaíso region.
