Chilean exports reach US$83.25 billion through August 2026

Chilean exports reached US$83.252 billion between January and August 2026, representing a 19.1% nominal increase compared to the same period last year. According to the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (SUBREI), the mining sector accounted for US$52.13 billion, or 62.6% of total shipments. Within the mining sector, copper saw a 19.3% increase, though it experienced a 3.2% decline in August. Lithium and gold also contributed to the mining growth.

Non-mining exports totaled US$31.123 billion. ProChile reported that shipments excluding copper and lithium reached US$36.012 billion during the first eight months, driven by increases in various food products and industrial goods.

In the agricultural sector, the Chilean Blueberry Committee estimates that the country will export 95,107 tons of fresh blueberries in the 2026-27 season, a 2% increase from the previous campaign. This growth is attributed to the adoption of new genetic varieties, which are expected to represent 32% of fresh exports. The committee notes that reduced supply from Peru may create additional market opportunities for Chilean fresh blueberries.
