Chilean fruit exports reach record levels for US market

Chilean fruit exports to the United States reached record levels during the 2025-2026 season. At the Teno Phytosanitary Inspection Site, authorities from the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified the shipment of over 14.4 million boxes of fruit, up from 12 million the previous year. The primary products inspected included oranges, apples, mandarins, and cherries.

Separately, the Chilean dried prune industry is expanding its reach into the Indian market. Following a change in phytosanitary protocols in 2023, exports to India increased by 400% between 2023 and 2026. Chileprunes aims to export more than 500 tons to India by 2027, utilizing marketing strategies focused on health benefits and local culinary adaptations to appeal to vegetarian and vegan consumers.
