Chilean government increases media funding and grants rural health concessions
The Chilean government has announced an increase in funding for media outlets in the Los Ríos Region. The Ministry of the General Secretariat of Government has allocated an additional $21,363,506 from the 2026 Social Media Promotion Fund. This redistribution of remaining resources will finance five projects previously on a waiting list, benefiting three media outlets in Valdivia and two in the Ranco Province. This brings the total regional investment to $157,768,689, supporting a total of 36 media organizations.
In the La Araucanía Region, the Ministry of National Assets has granted two free-use concessions for rural health posts in the Mañío and Chivilcoyan sectors of Nueva Imperial. These concessions are intended to ensure continued medical care for more than 800 residents in these remote areas. The initiative involves intersectoral cooperation between the Ministry of National Assets, the Ministry of Health, and the local municipality.
