Chilean Government launches commission to modernize public employment

President José Antonio Kast and Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz have launched the Ministerial Advisory Commission for the Modernization of Public Employment in Chile. The commission is tasked with developing technical proposals to modernize state management and adapt public employment to current national challenges.

The commission consists of 12 specialists from the public, academic, business, and civil society sectors. These experts possess experience in areas such as public policy, administrative law, economics, transparency, and human resources management. The group has a 120-day deadline to deliver its findings.

President Kast emphasized that the reform process will be inclusive, stating that the government intends to listen to various labor associations, such as ANEF, and engage in broad dialogue with legislators. The goal is to ensure the process is not conducted behind closed doors and focuses on the welfare of the nation rather than political outcomes.
