Chilean industry group proposes reforms for technical education

The Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SOFOFA) has proposed a ten-point plan titled “Decálogo: Desafíos de la Educación Media Técnico-Profesional en Chile” to improve technical-professional secondary education. SOFOFA leadership met with the Chilean Minister of Education to present these proposals, aiming to integrate the document into the government's educational improvement agenda. The initiative emphasizes the importance of the dual education model and the role of companies as allies in training talent to drive national innovation.

In the Los Andes province, the Local Public Education Service (SLEP) held its first territorial meeting for technical-professional high schools. The event brought together directors, coordinators, and teachers from five local institutions to create a territorial network and design joint pedagogical strategies. The meeting focused on strengthening links between schools, the productive sector, and higher education, while promoting active methodologies such as project-based learning.
