Chilean judicial prosecutors implement Law 21.772 notary reforms

Judicial prosecutors in Chile are implementing new oversight and educational measures following the enactment of Law 21.772, which modernizes the nation's notary and registry systems.

In the O’Higgins Region, prosecutors Álvaro Martínez and Joaquín Nilo conducted inspections of 26 notary offices, conservators, and judicial archivists between April and June. These inspections aimed to ensure compliance with the new law and promote transparency, specifically regarding the clear publication of service fees in offices and on websites.

In the Coyhaique region, judicial prosecutor Jaime Álvarez held an educational session for forestry engineering and agronomy students at the University of Aysén. The session focused on the legal implications of Law 21.772, discussing how the reforms to notaries, conservators, and archivists will impact professional practices related to land management and territorial governance.
