Chilean karate organizations and athletes achieve international recognition
The Seishin Kyokushin Karate Organization's headquarters has recognized the Chilean branch of the Seishin Kyokushin Academy as one of the most active in the Southern Cone. Led by Shihan Christian Suárez Falconi, the academy has been noted for its organizational growth, international alliances, and participation in tournaments across Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Uruguay. This recognition facilitates participation in European tournaments, with Shihan Suárez planning to conduct seminars in Europe later this year.
In separate sporting news, a delegation of seven athletes from the Biobío region made their debut in the World Junior Karate League in Guadalajara. Supported by government funding, the young competitors faced international talent. Notable performances included Benjamín Dodero, who secured a silver medal after defeating opponents from Mexico, the United States, Spain, and England, and Isabella Sepúlveda, who earned a bronze medal following victories over Mexico and strong performances against Croatia.
