Chilean literary contests launched in Castro and Aconcagua Valley

Various literary contests are being held in Chile to promote local culture and storytelling. In Castro, the “200 years, 200 words” micro-story competition has concluded its submission phase with over 60 participants. Organized by the Revive Castro program and the Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the contest commemorates the Bicentennial of Chiloé's incorporation into the Republic of Chile. Participants submitted stories inspired by the Costanera neighborhood in both adult and youth categories. A jury is currently evaluating the entries, with winners expected to be announced on September 25 and awarded during the Book Fair on October 16.

In the Aconcagua Valley, the web portal fuerteyfeliz.cl has launched a micro-fiction contest to celebrate its second anniversary. Open to residents over the age of 15, the competition invites participants to submit original, unpublished works of up to 200 words. The contest features prizes such as dinners and books, supported by local businesses. Submissions are accepted until October 15, 2026, with results scheduled for November 7, 2026.
