Chilean Ministry of Housing announces rental subsidies for seniors and disabled persons
Chile's Ministry of Housing and Urbanism (Minvu) has announced a new call for the 2026 Rental Subsidy program, specifically targeting senior citizens and people with disabilities. A total of 3,270 subsidies will be available nationwide, with 3,000 allocated to seniors and 270 to adults with disabilities.
The application period runs from September 8 to October 8, 2026. Eligible applicants must belong to the bottom 70% of the Social Household Registry (RSH) and demonstrate a minimum income equivalent to 5 UF. Notably, this specific call does not require prior savings to apply.
The subsidy can cover between 90% and 95% of monthly rent, with a maximum state contribution of 213 UF per beneficiary. For most regions, the monthly rent limit is 11 UF, though this increases to 13 UF in regions including Arica y Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Atacama, Metropolitana, Aysén, and Magallanes. Applications can be submitted online via the Minvu website using ClaveÚnica or in person at Serviu offices.
