Chilean organizations announce upcoming journalism congress and charity event

The Colegio de Periodistas de Chile has announced its XX National Congress, titled ‘Patricio Segura Ortiz’, to be held in Temuco on October 23, 24, and 25, 2026. Marking 70 years of the organization, the event will focus on journalism ethics, democracy, and professional challenges, including the impact of artificial intelligence, disinformation, and digital platforms.

The congress will feature thematic commissions covering freedom of expression, labor rights, and interculturality. It will also include documentary screenings and exhibitions, such as ‘Mujeres Periodistas en La Araucanía’.

In Copiapó, the local Rotary Clubs are organizing their annual charity bingo for October 3, 2026, at Colegio Héroes de Atacama. The event aims to raise funds for community activities, including Children's Week, through various games and food sales.
