Chilean police arrest suspect in kidnapping and murder of Venezuelan teenager
Chilean investigators have arrested 30-year-old Francisca Ortiz Pérez in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a 16-year-old Venezuelan teenager. The crime occurred in late September in the Santiago Metropolitan Region.
According to official reports, the victim and a 19-year-old companion were abducted by armed men while attending a party in Puente Alto. The victims were forced into a vehicle and taken to a vacant lot in Buin, where they were forced to run while being shot at. The teenager died from at least three gunshot wounds, while the 19-year-old managed to escape.
Police investigations, including ballistic analysis and security camera reviews, led to the identification of Ortiz Pérez. Authorities are currently investigating whether the motive was related to drug trafficking debts. A warrant remains active for another suspect involved in the incident.
