Chilean politicians respond to Gabriel Boric's administration critique

Former President Gabriel Boric has sparked political debate following remarks made during a book presentation for ‘La resaca’ by Eugenio Tironi. Boric offered a self-critique regarding his administration's performance in social and security matters, specifically addressing the thesis that former Interior Minister Carolina Tohá was the figure who provided stability to his government.

In response, Carolina Tohá stated that political contributions are rarely “black and white,” noting that many individuals worked to help the government navigate crises, including economic challenges and the aftermath of the constitutional plebiscite.

Members of the Democratic Socialism party and the Socialist Party expressed dissatisfaction with Boric's comments. Political figures, including Senator Gastón Saavedra and Deputy Raúl Soto, argued that the inclusion of Democratic Socialism members in the cabinet was vital for correcting the government's course, particularly regarding public security and the implementation of legislative projects.
