Chilean Referee Héctor Jona Sanctioned After Confrontation with Player Kevin Altez

During the 86th minute of the 3‑3 draw between Huachipato and Cobresal in the Chilean Primera División, Huachipato midfielder Kevin Altez attempted a headbutt on referee Héctor Jona and was later handed a four‑match suspension by the league's disciplinary committee. The incident prompted the Comisión de Árbitros, led by its president Roberto Tobar, to review Jona’s conduct. The commission criticised Jona for a "challenging" and "non‑calm" approach, describing his close‑up with Altez as overly aggressive. As an internal disciplinary measure, Jona was suspended from officiating upcoming fixtures, with the exact duration to be determined. The sanctions were announced shortly after the match and have drawn nationwide attention within Chilean football.
