Chilean regional running events draw thousands of participants

Chilean regional governments are hosting mass sporting events to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles. In Talca, the first ‘Corrida del Corazón’ saw all 3,000 available spots filled within a day and a half. Organized by the Maule Regional Government and the Corporación Regional de Desarrollo Productivo (CRDP), the free event will take place on November 8 at the Plaza de Armas, offering distances of 2, 5, and 10 kilometers.

Simultaneously, the ‘A Mover Chile’ sports carnival drew more than 3,000 participants to Parque Ecuador in Concepción. The event featured 3 and 5-kilometer runs through the Biobío capital. Local authorities noted that these initiatives are part of a broader government strategy to massify sports and transform the Biobío region into a national sporting hub, with the Biobío Half Marathon scheduled for December.
