Morocco Rally Stage 2: Lategan wins as Al-Attiyah faces setbacks

The Morocco Rally, a key event in the W2RC World Rally Raid Championship, saw significant shifts in the standings during Stage 2. In the Ultimate car category, Henk Lategan won the stage driving a Toyota, capitalizing on a mechanical failure suffered by Nasser Al-Attiyah. Al-Attiyah, who was leading, lost substantial time, allowing Lucas Moraes to take the overall lead.

In the motorcycle categories, Daniel Sanders demonstrated strong form by winning Stage 2, reclaiming the overall lead from Ricky Brabec. Other notable performances include Chilean rider Bruno Bozzo and Ignacio Cornejo, who both navigated the demanding terrain around Zagora.

The rally remains a critical test for drivers preparing for the Dakar, with over 2,000 kilometers of total distance featuring challenging dunes and technical tracks.
