Chilean SAG launches digital hunting permit platform

The Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) in Chile is launching a new Hunting Permit Management System on October 23. This digital platform is designed to simplify and accelerate the processing of permits for both large and small game hunting, as well as the homologation of foreign hunting licenses.

A key feature of the update is the issuance of digital permits containing a QR code to verify authenticity and validity. While most of the application process can now be completed online from any location, the mandatory written examination will remain a face-to-face requirement. Applicants must still take this exam in person at the SAG sectoral office corresponding to their registered address.

The transition period will allow both the new digital QR-coded permits and existing physical permits to remain valid. SAG has stated it will continue to provide in-person assistance for individuals without internet access or those requiring help with the digital process.
