Chilean school vaccination campaigns report high coverage in Biobío and Maule

School vaccination campaigns in Chile are showing significant progress across several regions. In the Biobío region, immunization coverage has reached 76%, with 44,561 elementary and middle school students vaccinated as of mid-September. This includes 77% coverage for first-grade students against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis, and 76% for fourth-grade students against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

In the Maule region, vaccination rates have exceeded national averages. Maule currently holds the first place in the country for eighth-grade coverage of the dTpa vaccine at 87.1%. The region also ranks second nationally for first-grade dTpa coverage at 86.2% and third for HPV vaccination in fourth-grade students at 86.8%.

The vaccination programs, which include protection against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and HPV, are part of mandatory health protocols managed by regional health authorities and educational institutions.
