Chilean seafood exports to Russia resume for five facilities
Russian sanitary authorities have lifted restrictions on five Chilean seafood processing facilities, allowing them to resume exports to the Russian market. This decision follows an audit initiated in 2025 by Rosselkhoznadzor, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, which inspected nine Chilean establishments and their entire supply chains, including cultivation centers and slaughterhouses.
While five facilities have been cleared, four others remain under evaluation. Sernapesca, Chile’s National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, is currently working on the necessary documentation and controls to facilitate the authorization of the remaining sites. The progress is attributed to corrective measures implemented by the Chilean industry to meet the microbiological and technical requirements established by the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation.
