Chilean SMEs leverage Corfo support for expansion and AI innovation
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Chile are leveraging regional support and advanced technology to expand their market reach and innovation capabilities. In Magallanes, Berberis Patagonia, led by Ana Millar and Cecilia Crisóstomo, is utilizing Corfo’s Semilla Expande program to grow its business. Based in Puerto Natales, the company produces artisanal goods such as syrups, juices, and salts derived from the calafate fruit, aiming to reach new domestic and international markets through both digital platforms and new gastronomic experiences.
In the Ñuble region, SMEs are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence into their operations. During the Corfo Conecta Ñuble 2026 event, companies showcased diverse AI applications: Mirasub uses computer vision for aquaculture data analysis, while Inzai employs AI to streamline environmental assessment documentation. Additionally, the University of Concepción’s C4i technological center, supported by Corfo, is assisting timber SMEs in adopting AI through a technological absorption program.
