Chilean sports: Handball qualifiers and basketball playoff standings

In Chilean youth sports, the Liceo Diego Portales from San Carlos has qualified for the Under-14 National Final of the School Sports Games. The team, led by coach Jorge Rojas, features two national youth selections, Alonso Baquedano and Miguel Ángel Riquelme, who recently represented Chile in the Center-South American Handball Championship in Paraguay.

The National Final is scheduled to take place in the Valparaíso region between September 22 and October 4, 2026, featuring students from public and private schools across the country.

In professional basketball, the regular season of the National Basketball League's Clausura tournament has concluded. In the Central Conference, Universidad de Concepción finished as leader with only one loss, followed by Colegio Los Leones and Municipal Puente Alto, all of whom secured direct playoff spots. In the Southern Conference, CD Valdivia finished as the undisputed leader and the only undefeated team in the national league, winning all 12 of its matches.
