Chilean Sports Minister announces major infrastructure investments in Arica
Chilean Sports Minister Francisco Riveros visited the Arica and Parinacota Region to oversee several major sports infrastructure projects. Key initiatives include the planned Regional Training Center (CER) and an Integral Sports Building, which represent a combined investment of approximately $32.8 billion pesos and are expected to benefit 33,000 people.
Additional projects under review include an Aquatic Pavilion and a Multi-sport Complex, involving a joint investment of roughly $49.5 billion pesos aimed at serving 9,000 residents in Arica. During the visit, the Minister also met with 47 athletes from the Promesas Chile program, which covers disciplines such as archery, karate, taekwondo, handball, surfing, athletics, judo, and rugby. The program is slated to receive $160 million pesos in funding from the IND for 2026.
