Chilean students win NASA trips for high school attendance
The Fundación Educacional Oportunidad has announced the winners of its “Haz que Despeguen” contest across all 16 regions of Chile. The initiative aims to incentivize school attendance during early childhood education by rewarding students who maintain high attendance rates.
Winners from various regions, including Aysén, Atacama, Biobío, Coquimbo, O’Higgins, Tarapacá, Valparaíso, and Ñuble, have been selected from over 26,000 national participants. To qualify, students were required to maintain at least 90% attendance between March and June 2026.
As a prize, the regional winners and a parent will travel to the NASA Kennedy Space Center in the United States in January 2027. The all-expenses-paid trip also includes visits to Legoland and Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The program emphasizes that regular attendance is a fundamental pillar for early learning and long-term development.
