Chilean Supreme Court issues rulings on civil liability and reimbursement

The Supreme Court of Chile has issued two significant rulings regarding civil claims. In the first case, the Court rejected an appeal concerning a reimbursement claim between former spouses. The dispute involved a request for approximately $50.6 million CLP for expenses related to a property purchase and vehicle costs. The Court upheld a previous decision regarding the suspension of the statute of limitations, maintaining the validity of the reimbursement action.

In a separate ruling, the Court upheld a $2 million CLP indemnity for moral damages resulting from a traffic accident on Route 160. The incident involved a motorcyclist who collided with a barrier after a truck performed an unsignaled turn. While the Court maintained the award for moral damages, it dismissed the claims for material damages to the motorcycle.
