Chilean Supreme Court upholds CAE debt collection authority

The Supreme Court of Chile has overturned three previous rulings from the Arica Court of Appeals that had sought to halt debt collection actions related to the State-Guaranteed Loan (CAE).

The court's decision validates the legal strategy of the General Treasury of the Republic (TGR), which conducts collections through executive procedures established in the Tax Code. Juan Pablo Marras, Head of the TGR Legal Division, stated that these rulings ratify the institution's legal interpretation and its authority for the judicial collection of these fiscal credits, effectively settling discussions regarding the legality of the TGR's actions in this matter.
