Chilean swimmers achieve regional and international milestones
Several Chilean swimmers are reaching significant milestones in their athletic careers. Constanza Pino Sánchez, a 22-year-old swimmer from Bulnes, secured third place at the 2026 International Cold Water Swimmers Championship in San Pedro de la Paz. Following this achievement, she is scheduled to compete in the world cold water championships in Calafate, Argentina, in June 2027.
In another development, paralympic swimmer Carla Gómez Quezada is preparing to compete in the National Paranatation Championship in Santiago. Representing the Ñuble region, Gómez will participate in the 50-meter backstroke, 150-meter freestyle, and 100-meter backstroke events. Her participation is supported by a municipal subsidy from Quirihue to assist with travel and training costs.
