Chilean Treasury offers payment plans for Solidarity Loan debts
The General Treasury of the Republic (TGR) in Chile has introduced payment agreements for individuals with outstanding installments from the 'Préstamo Solidario' (Solidarity Loan). This economic support measure was implemented during 2020 and 2021 to mitigate pandemic-related economic effects.
Citizens can access payment plans of up to 24 months. The terms of these agreements depend on previous payment behavior, requiring an initial down payment of 10%, 20%, or 30% of the debt, with the remaining balance spread over 12, 18, or 24 installments.
To facilitate the process, the Internal Revenue Service (SII) allows taxpayers to file overdue income tax returns at no cost. Once the declaration is made, the SII provides a payment coupon that can be used at the TGR to formalize the agreement. All procedures can be completed online via the TGR website using 'ClaveÚnica' or 'Clave Tributaria'.
