Chilean universities host academic outreach and practice exams
Chilean universities are conducting outreach initiatives to support high school students preparing for higher education.
The University of Talca held an open house event at its Linares Campus for third and fourth-year high school students from the southern Maule region. The event focused on introducing students to various pedagogy programs, including specialties in mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, English, and early childhood education. The initiative aims to provide practical experiences and information regarding employability and academic benefits to help students make informed career decisions.
Simultaneously, the University of Concepción (UdeC) conducted its first PAES practice exam across three campuses. At the Chillán Campus alone, 800 students participated in the simulation. The program is designed to mimic the conditions of the official national university admission test, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the process and receive feedback before the year-end examinations.
