Chilean universities host events exploring Artificial Intelligence and social impact

Duoc UC and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile are organizing the 8th Social Congress, featuring a “Hackathon Social” on November 6. The event will bring together 100 students divided into 20 interdisciplinary teams to develop Artificial Intelligence solutions for real social challenges. The congress aims to address the theme of “Caring for the human: from algorithm to encounter,” focusing on how to utilize AI while maintaining human dignity and community connection.

Separately, the Universidad Diego Portales and the Universidad de Antofagasta, through the MASSI Consortium, will host the first Festival MASSI Conocimiento Amplificado on November 9 and 10. This festival seeks to connect academic research in humanities, arts, and social sciences with local communities. The program includes discussions on Artificial Intelligence, identity, gender, and contemporary life, featuring various artists and researchers.
