Chilean universities partner with industry for sustainability and urban innovation

The University of Talca and Constructora Nuevos Aires S.A. have signed a framework agreement to collaborate on research, innovation, and human capital development. Executed by the Kipus Technological Center of the Faculty of Engineering, the three-year partnership aims to address digital transformation and sustainability in the construction industry. Key areas of focus include energy efficiency in housing, optimization of construction processes, and waste management.

Separately, the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH) participated as a sponsor and methodological reference in the 4th 'Young Innovators' contest. This initiative, driven by the Metropolitan Public Transport Directorate (DTPM) and Red Movilidad, seeks to improve urban transport experiences through student-led projects. The Center provided specialized training in pitch and effective communication to interdisciplinary teams from various Chilean universities.
