Chilean woman gives birth during emergency transit following toll dispute

In Chile, a woman named Camila Godoy gave birth unexpectedly while traveling from Penco to the Hospital Higueras de Talcahuano in the Bío Bío region. The incident occurred on August 27 following a dispute at a toll booth on the Interportuaria route.

Godoy reported that the family was unable to pay the 2,500 peso toll immediately and requested to pass with a promise of later payment. The toll booth worker refused, leading to a delay that Godoy claims put her and her daughter's lives in danger. Godoy has criticized the concessionaire for a lack of empathy during the medical emergency.
