Chile's 2025 regional wage data shows sharp gaps between north and south

The 2025 Supplementary Income Survey released by Chile’s National Statistics Institute shows that the Región de Antofagasta recorded the highest average monthly wage at $1,196,754 and a median of $830,350, placing it well above the national average of $962,945. By contrast, the Región de Ñuble posted the third‑lowest average wage of $763,668 and a median of $599,151, both significantly under the national figures.

Gender gaps were pronounced. In Antofagasta, women earned 38.4 % less than men on average, while in Ñuble the gap was 12.6 %. Public‑sector employees earned higher salaries than private‑sector workers in both regions. The data highlights persistent regional and gender disparities in Chile’s labour market.
