Chile's Economy Ministry initiates business recovery catalog in Coquimbo

The Ministry of Economy, led by Minister Daniel Mas Valdés, began the rollout of the Emergency Business and Cooperative Registry (FEEC) in the Coquimbo Region to document damage from the recent frontal system and guide future aid. Regional Sercotec director Roberto Vega Campusano said the FEEC will identify affected firms so funds from Sercotec, CORFO and regional authorities can be allocated. Sernatur regional director Angélica Funes added that a special focus will be placed on the tourism sector, with teams inspecting impacts on key destinations to accelerate their reopening.

In parallel, the regional Social Development office reported that La Serena has recorded the highest number of emergency information forms (FIBE), with 979 fichas submitted, followed by Ovalle and Coquimbo. The data collection aims to quantify household and infrastructure losses and support the distribution of recovery bonuses.

Authorities urged businesses and cooperatives that suffered damage to contact local productive development offices to ensure their information is entered into the regional catalog, which will form the basis for targeted reconstruction assistance.
