Junaeb sustains school meals in Calama and runs winter programs for 900 students in Maule
The Chilean National Board of School Assistance and Scholarships (Junaeb) confirmed that the School Feeding Program will continue for students at the Valentín Letelier School in Calama despite damage from the May 25 earthquake. Junaeb supplied contingency meals during remote classes and pledged to restore regular service once the temporary modular school is operational.
In the Maule Region, Junaeb organized winter activities for about 900 students, combining recreation, educational visits to sites such as the National Historical Museum and a mobile planetarium, and sports and cooking workshops. Meals—including breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner—were provided according to each activity.
