At the same time, a record 58 percent of Chileans expressed pessimism about the country’s future – the highest level since the survey series began in 2015. Respondents also anticipate a broad rise in prices, with 79 percent expecting overall inflation and 76 percent foreseeing higher bread costs.

Public sentiment on key policy proposals is divided. The Reconstruction and Development law draws almost equal support (≈36 percent) and opposition (≈37 percent), while the abortion‑related “Escucha tu corazón” bill is rejected by 54 percent of those surveyed. The government’s handling of recent severe storms and the emergency response has also faced criticism, adding pressure to an already fragile political standing.
