Chile's President Kast Rolls Out 27,000‑Peso Gas Coupon for 49,000 Families in Arica

From June 17, the Chilean government activated a 27,000‑peso LPG coupon for 49,315 households in the Arica and Parinacota region. The benefit, part of the "Chile Sale Adelante" plan, can be used for gas purchases until September 30, with activation dates staggered through late June. The regional presidential delegate urged remaining families to register before the deadline.

The rollout coincides with President José Antonio Kast’s first 100 days in office, during which his administration reported a series of economic, security, migration and social measures. Highlights include over US$22.8 billion in new investment, fiscal adjustments, reductions in homicide and sexual crime rates, expulsions of irregular migrants, and expanded social benefits such as winter bonuses and support for seniors. The government also announced international agreements on critical minerals and a cooperation pact with the Czech Republic on Antarctic and space industries.
