Chile's Regional Folk Festivals Return in July

The Teatro Regional del Maule will host the second edition of "Noches del Folclor" on July 17‑18, featuring the Ballet Folclórico Regional del Maule, the duo Alturas de Longaví, singer‑songwriter Jorge Yáñez, and groups Raudales, Voces Vilchanas and Los Piolas del Lote. Organisers highlight the event’s role in showcasing Chile’s rural traditions, poetry, cueca and regional identities.

After a seven‑year hiatus, the Ballet Folklórico Nacional (BAFONA) will perform free shows in Calama on July 7, followed by performances in Antofagasta on July 8 and Mejillones on July 9. The tour, coordinated with local cultural authorities, aims to decentralise access to high‑quality folk art across the country.
