Chile's Regional Governments Approve Multi‑Million Investments for Cultural Restoration and Road Infrastructure

The Maule regional council approved more than 5.655 billion Chilean pesos to fund the restoration of the historic former Intendencia building in Talca, bringing the total project cost to 14.846 billion pesos. The plan aims to preserve the early‑20th‑century architecture and convert the site into a public cultural and heritage space, with work expected to begin in the second half of 2026.

In Los Lagos, the regional government allocated over 1.397 billion pesos to purchase a fleet of modern road‑construction equipment for the Vialidad department in Chiloé. The machinery, including dump trucks, a crane, an asphalt sprayer, and rollers, is intended to accelerate the paving of up to 180 km of rural roads over the next decade, improving connectivity and safety for local communities.
