Chilgok County leads trade mission to Malaysia

Chilgok County, South Korea, has launched a trade mission to Malaysia to expand overseas markets for local small and medium-sized enterprises. Led by County Governor Kim Jae-wook, the delegation includes 10 companies specializing in automotive parts, industrial materials, food, and household goods.

The mission involves a series of scheduled activities in Kuala Lumpur, including one-on-one export consultations, market trend briefings, and meetings with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM). Participants will also visit the MIAPEX 2026 international automotive parts exhibition and engage with the Selangor and Federal Territory Machinery and Automotive Parts Traders Association (EMPTA).

Food and household goods companies are set to visit local distributors, such as the KMT Group, to study consumption markets and distribution structures. The mission also aims to support companies attempting to re-enter the Malaysian market after previously withdrawing due to competition from low-cost products.
