Chilgok County line dance club promotes local tourism via social media

A line dance club named ‘Childoran’ is promoting tourism in Chilgok County, South Korea, through social media. The group consists of 13 women with an average age of 51, including local business owners, teachers, and a county council member.

Originally formed in June as a fitness and social group, the members began filming themselves performing line dances at various local landmarks, such as Maewon Village, the Honey Bee Theme Park, and the Chilgok Peace Observatory. They film and edit these videos using mobile phones to share on Instagram and Facebook. The initiative has gained traction, with viewers expressing interest in visiting the region. In response to the organic popularity, the Chilgok County promotion team has proposed a collaboration to produce official videos for the county’s social media channels.
