Chilgok County opens new bicycle park with unique pump track

Chilgok County has officially opened the Chilgok County Bicycle Park in Seokjeok-eup, featuring a park-style pump track—the only one of its kind among county-level local governments in South Korea.

The project, which involved an investment of approximately 1 billion won over three years starting in 2024, covers a total area of 6,261 square meters. The facility includes a 3,665-square-meter pump track designed to help riders develop speed and balance through undulating courses, a 1,139-square-meter multipurpose track, and various rest areas. The park is designed to accommodate users of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced enthusiasts, including children and families.

The opening was celebrated with the ‘2026 Chilgok County Bicycle Festival,’ which drew approximately 1,000 attendees. The event featured demonstration performances by elementary and middle school athletes from the Daegu and Busan branches of the Korea BMX Federation, as well as high-difficulty technical displays by national representative Seok A-rin.

The bicycle park is free to use and open year-round from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though hours may vary by season. Visitors must bring their own bicycles and wear safety equipment. Children aged 13 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.
