Chili prices rise at Pasar Rakyat Gumumae in Bula

Chili prices are rising at Pasar Rakyat Gumumae in Bula, East Seram Regency. As of August 9, 2026, bird's eye chili (cabai rawit) has reached Rp80,000 per kilogram, a significant increase from the previous month's price of Rp50,000.

Curly red chili (cabai keriting) has also seen an increase, rising from approximately Rp40,000 per kilogram last month to Rp60,000 per kilogram. Local traders noted that they have been forced to adjust selling prices to consumers due to the higher costs from suppliers.
