Chillicothe Council debates data center development

The Chillicothe City Council is continuing discussions regarding a proposed data center development in the Chilpaco division of a former paper mill. The council previously passed a 60-day moratorium to legally pause development within city limits while the issue is reviewed.

During a recent public review session, Alignment Engine of Canton, Ohio, presented its plans for the site. While the session drew approximately 350 attendees, reports indicate that roughly 75% of the audience did not oppose the project. Council members have addressed concerns regarding transparency, with some noting they have not signed non-disclosure agreements related to the property visits.
