Chillán authorities announce zero tolerance for illegal trade at Fiesta de la Longaniza

Authorities in Chillán have announced a zero-tolerance policy regarding illegal commerce during the upcoming Fiesta de la Longaniza, scheduled for August 21, 22, and 23. Presidential Delegate Diego Sepúlveda Palma, Mayor Camilo Benavente, and Carabineros General Loreto Osses met to coordinate security measures for the major Ñuble Region celebration.

The initiative aims to prevent issues caused by unauthorized street vendors, specifically targeting the “blue awnings” (toldos azules) that have caused complications in previous years. To ensure public safety and order, Carabineros will implement an operational deployment across the commune, including access points and the Plaza de Armas, utilizing additional personnel from other regions to increase presence during the event.
