Chillán hosts regional cycling race and youth orchestra summit

The Ñuble region in Chile is hosting two significant community events this week. On Saturday, October 10, the second edition of the Gran Fondo Nevados de Chillán cycling race will take place. Approximately 300 cyclists will participate in a 117-kilometer route starting from Chillán's Plaza de Armas and ending at the Hotel Nevados de Chillán, passing through Coihueco and Pinto. The event, organized by Epic Rides, includes a shorter 55-kilometer course for beginners and is expected to boost local tourism and commerce.

Simultaneously, Chillán is serving as the venue for the Regional Meeting of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Ñuble (EOJIÑ) from October 8 to October 10. Organized by the Ñuble Symphony Orchestra, the event brings together nine musical groups from various communes, including San Carlos, San Ignacio, and Cobquecura. The program focuses on musical training, rehearsals, and exchange, culminating in a closing concert featuring works by Mozart, Rossini, Los Jaivas, and Violeta Parra.
