Chilly Girl wins Rosebud Stakes in successful return to racing

The undefeated filly Chilly Girl secured a convincing one-length victory in the Rosebud Stakes, marking a successful return to racing after a long hiatus. Ridden by jockey Tim Clark, the Trapeze Artist daughter overtook the favorite, Blue Door, in the final 200 metres to claim the win.

The victory follows a significant setback for the filly, who sustained a hamstring injury in January shortly after winning the Widden Stakes. This injury had previously ruled her out of a Golden Slipper campaign. Trainers Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou expressed confidence in her recovery, noting that she has returned stronger after a long preparation.

Following this performance, the team is eyeing a path through the Princess Series, with potential upcoming runs in the Group 2 Furious Stakes and the Tea Rose Stakes. Trainer Gerald Ryan indicated that the filly may eventually compete over a mile in the Group 1 Flight Stakes.
